Red

Curator: Aref Baranian

Red Table annually honors twenty experimental works and examines the triad of Question, Path, and Work within them. Experimental works are products of thought and processes shaped by the professional and even personal experiences of architects. Representing this process can gradually outline patterns for experimentalism.
With this approach, we will host a series of events called “Red Table.” Red Table focuses on unveiling the experiences of architects—rather than a specific project—within the context of experimentalism. It explores the professional life narratives of architects and serves as a “workshop” for selected non-competitive projects of 2023.
What paths have the architects of these selected works traversed in their professional and intellectual journeys? In other words, have their offices been a project for these architects? What is the intellectual project of these offices? What is the professional worldview of the architect, and how is it translated into the language of their projects? What methodology do they use?
In summary, how would the triad of “Question, Path, Work” in the selected Red Table works be reformulated as “Intellectual Project, Intellectual Journey, and Intellectual Archive”?
Red Table serves as a medium to continue the dialogue within the framework of contemporary Iranian architecture discourse. These discussions will involve architects and audiences, hosted by an architectural critic.

This event was held free of charge and in person at the Contemporary Architects Center.
