Film Screening Series

In the most significant movements of Iranian cinema, we will examine the architecture of major works in the history of Iranian film. This includes explorations of popular cinema, the New Wave, social realism, fantasy and science fiction, poetic cinema, and historical cinema.
The series consists of eight two-hour sessions that include film screenings. These sessions will be held in person and are free of charge at the Contemporary Architects Association.

Cinema – Architecture: Major Movements in Iranian Cinema
This series explores the role of architecture in the most significant works of Iranian cinema, including popular cinema, the New Wave, social realism, fantasy and science fiction, poetic cinema, and historical cinema. The program consists of eight two-hour sessions. Starting from the third session, films will be screened and discussed in person, free of charge, at the Contemporary Architects Association.
The series includes critiques and analyses of films by Cyrus Alvand, Shapour Gharib, and Samuel Khachikian.

This session will feature the film Brick and Mirror by Ebrahim Golestan. It will include a critique and analysis of Brick and Mirror as well as Calmness in the Presence of Others by Ebrahim Golestan and Nasser Taghvaei.
