In compiling the “Convergence” book across various layers, we aim to produce and exchange ideas. The Contemporary Architects Association seeks to create a space where instructors and students, together and in sync, can observe the current situation with a critical reading and analytical approach, mastering history.
One of the most important educational programs of the Contemporary Architects Association is the Hamgara studios, which are part of the advanced courses in the association’s educational structure. The result of nine months of effort by instructors and students in this program, which includes four parallel studios, is the Hamgara book, produced and printed with the help of the students themselves.
This section focuses on familiarizing students with the process of analysis, idea generation, and design, and practicing it in action. At the end of these studios, a jury session is held with prominent architects where the achievements are analyzed and critiqued.
The third and fourth sections of this book include the outcomes of theoretical and technical studios. These studios run parallel to the other four studios over the nine-month period, guiding students in their approach to architectural issues and problem-solving with theoretical and technical perspectives.
We strive to document and record these educational achievements to facilitate reference, dialogue, critique, and exchange of ideas.
