This book is a summary of the one-year activities of the Contemporary Architects Association in the fields of education, research, design, and construction, compiled into four sections:
- Workshops and Design Studios:
Project-based workshops aim to integrate art, industry, and science with a focus on creative product development and innovative inventions through modern technologies. Design studios are the core of architectural education. Through these studios, participants learn creative skills and how to use them to produce innovative solutions.
- Lecture and Workshop Series – TALK WALK:
TALK WALK is a series of architectural events presented by the Contemporary Architects Association. Since July 2016, professors and architects from Asia, Europe, and America, selected by Farshad Mehdizadeh as curator and hosted by the association, have visited Iran. They shared their knowledge and experiences with Iranian architects and students through workshops, exhibitions, and lectures.
- Events:
These sessions aim to create dialogue between speakers and audiences, helping us better understand topics and prevailing conditions, and to better assess our own positions. These events underscore the belief that contemporary humans are inquisitive beings with analytical minds, seeking to understand and engage in discourse to find answers.
- Continuous Courses:
As a preliminary step towards establishing an architectural school, the Converging Studios program was planned. Starting from February 2017, efforts will focus on critically examining the city of Tehran and, through continuous exchanges, proposing innovative solutions to enhance the quality of life and its architecture.
